I hosted my first soiree at my new condo the other night. To be honest, I was a bit nervous. I've never entertained entirely on my own. I've only ever been an assistant. I'm extremely lucky to be my mother's daughter - she has exquisite taste and is always an excellent hostess, right down to her cocktail napkins. I learn more and more from her everyday.
My sister, mom and I are addicted to HomeGoods - we should have bumper stickers made: "WILL DRIVE FOR HOMEGOODS". We especially love it when we spot Kate Spade goodies. You know those perfect green boxes that you can spy from 30 feet away?
However, the only thing Kate Spade right now on the bar cart is this tall bud vase (currently housing my gold dot straws and decorative branch). But, my sis just gifted me this set for my collection of glassware that she found at HomeGoods.
Here's a little sneak peek into my new living room. My color scheme consists of dark, rich navy and cream, with gold and magenta accents. More to come later...
And finally, here is the before and after of the party bucket. I used Valspar spray paint. I intended to buy the gold, but accidentally purchased the rose gold. I'm pleased with the color nonetheless. I actually think it matches the bar cart quite nicely. What do you think?
