My mom certainly out did herself with this one! She's been crafting, planning, constructing, wrapping, shopping since the day Kerry & Jeff told us they were expecting! (See Kerry's Bridal Shower and Wedding Invitation Suite).
Kerry & Jeff aren't finding out the baby's gender, so my mom and I wanted to stick to a very neutral theme -- we decided on burlap with greys, whites and creams as accents. We had a blast shopping for gender neutral baby clothes and accessories to string around the room. My mom made all the decorative hanging balls from coffee filters! She's so talented. She also handmade all the utensil holders out of burlap, and wrapped wood 'baby' letters in yarn for decoration on the window sill. She came up with the really cute idea of wrapping boxes of diapers in brown paper and stacking them to resemble baby blocks - so cute! .. not to mention the chocolate dipped pretzels and oreos, burlap 'baby' banners, diaper cakes, flowers and wreaths, wood signs, and champagne favors!
I'm proud to say I get my creative side from my mom. Not that my Dad isn't creative... he decided to spell out the word 'baby' with all the champagne favors -- nice work dad! But in the words of rapper Will.I.Am.... "I got it from my mama..."
Thanks to everyone for coming and helping out! It was a great time. Kerry, Jeff and Baby M are so lucky!

Hello! This baby shower is phenomenal! I am inspired by the baby shower "Ten Little Fingers Ten Little Toes" sign! I am in the process of hosting a baby shower and would like to know where you may have purchased the sign....or who made it?!!? I am looking for something exactly like it and the baby shower is the end of this month. Could you lead me in the right direction?! Any and all help is appreciated!! Thank you in advance!

Hi Tara. Thanks for the kind words on this post.
DeleteWe actually made the sign oursevles. We purchased / found scrap pieces of wood, nailed them to the taller piece, and simple had wrote, then painted over the words. It seems somewhat daunting but it was fairly easy to do.
Let me know if you have other questions. Good luck!
Kristy
What diaper boxes did you use to get the square "blocks"?
ReplyDeleteWe used Pampers Swaddlers (148 count). The boxes come in a few different sizes (depending on diaper size), which we liked because it helped set each of the 'blocks' apart a little bit. The brown wrapping paper can be found at your local craft store - AC Moore, Michael's, etc. Good luck!
DeleteYour shower was beautiful! Did you make the tags or purchase them?! I love the simplicity!
ReplyDeleteHi Cati. We made the tags ourselves. The burlap paper is from Joann Fabrics, then we used circle labels from the Paper Source. They have free templates available so its super easy. Good luck!
DeleteWhere is did you get the favor bottles??
ReplyDeleteWe bought the Prosecco at a local liquor outlet. The tags we made ourselves. The burlap is from Joanne Fabrics (craft store), the circle stickers are from The Paper Source. :)
DeleteThis is all so elegant. I'm curious as to how the wreaths were made? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI would love to duplicate some ideas from this most beautiful baby shower. Simply elegant! Could you share with me how the wreaths hanging on the door was made?
ReplyDeleteHi Diane,
DeleteThanks for the kind words. My mom actually made the wreaths so I'll have to ask her to provide the instructions. Do you want to shoot me an email: kristy@style-blueprint.com?
Thanks,
Kristy
