Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Roundup

Let's face it... I can't afford to buy all the things I'm currently coveting at Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale (#nsale).  But when a good sale comes along, I tend to spend my money on an investment piece (or two) that I know will last for years to come, like these boots!  Then I look for fun pieces that are maybe more trendy but too good to pass up, like this dress.

I did a little early access shopping last Friday...

• I highly recommend scooping up a pair (or 2) of these Zella 'Live In' Leggings - they're my absolute favorite!  
• This Patagonia zipper down has been on my wish list for a while so I finally snagged it ($40 off with sale)
• This ASTR suede dress will transition nicely into the Fall ($30 off with sale)
• This peasant tunic has already sold-out, but I love this lace-up sweater

Happy Wednesday!  I'm very excited to share big news today... I became an Auntie!  And it's a girl!  My sister gave birth this morning, both her and baby are doing great!  Baby Sadie is absolutely precious and I just love her to pieces already...

I had planned on posting all my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks by now, but life happen.  So here's my first look from the sale, highlighting this adorable tunic (which unfortunately has already sold out).  I guess I should have expected this top to sell out quickly: its the perfect length with super cute feminine details, plus a great price point.  I know I'll be wearing this piece well into the Fall season.  I'll be sharing more of my sale picks later this week, so stay tuned!

Polka Dot Culottes

Well, here we go again.  Another hot week ahead!  These fluid culottes are perfect for the hot temps.  I actually had to pair this look with a cardigan while I was at the office in the cold air conditioning.  After work, I met up with my girl Danielle for some dinner and drinks (and some blogging).  I had to lose the cardigan -- but as the sun set, this outfit was perfect for some dinner al fresco!

Summer Suiting // the Perfect Summer Blazer

It happens to all of us gals.  You have an event or ultra important meeting, and that last thing you want to even think about wearing is that heavy wool blazer (or suit) you wore last winter.  Enter this perfect cape-blazer.  It's my go-to piece when I have an important meeting or interview, especially in the summertime.  It allows my arms to move freely, without feeling restricted or too hot, while still providing that level of professionalism I strive for.  Pair it with a tank or cami, jeans or dress pants: its the perfect staple for your summer wardrobe.

Casual Fourth

Hope you're having a fabulous 4th of July weekend!  I wore this dress to lunch with my mom and sis at Pier 6 in the Navy Yard this past Friday.  The food was just okay but the views of Boston are spectacular.  I hear they have an amazing weekend Brunch that I'm dying to try.  It was a great way to kick off the Holiday weekend.
